Today it's 40 years since Louis Armstrong - the great Satchmo - died. His legacy is incredible and "What A Wonderful World" remains one of the prettiest songs ever written and recorded. It was composed by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss and Armstrong was the first to record it, in 1968. It was a response to the uncertainty, fright and turmoil that influenced people's everyday life at the time, and the song's hopeful message still rings true. It's an amazing recording of an amazing song, covered by many, but never bettered - not even by Joey Ramone.
