Happy birthday to the fabulous actor Harry Dean Stanton who turns 85 today! So what does he have to do with Procol Harum and "A Whiter Shade Of Pale", you might wonder. Not much really, apart from Stanton starring in a part of an 80's TV special where one or several directors (I'm not sure) made videos set to 60's classics such as this. Stanton cuts a fine figure as he always does and by his mere presence he shows why he's one of the coolest actors in the universe. The song "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" borrows, as many people will know, parts of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Sleepers, Wake!" and "Air on the G String", and may be all the stronger for it. A word of advice: Don't try to figure out what the lyrics mean, and don't try to put too much meaning into this video either, especially not try to make it fit the words.
