Swedish singer Björn Skifs reached fifth place in the Swedish qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 with "Michelangelo", a song that has aged surprisingly well. Skifs enjoyed international fame in 1974 when his band Blue Swede's version of "Hooked On A Feeling" reached number one on the American Billboard chart. Quentin Tarantino also used it in the soundtrack for his debut film Reservoir Dogs in 1992. In other words, Skifs had a certain lead when he entered the competition at home in Sweden, but it wasn't good enough, as the winner was Lasse Berghagen with the song "Jennie, Jennie". I'm not sure if that has aged quite as good, but I doubt it.
