Bruce Springsteen - 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)

Happy birthday, America! What better way to salute the 235the anniversary of the independence of the Unites States of America than by playing Bruce Springsteen's wonderful ballad "4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)"? The song is taken from his second 1973 album The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle and is one of the best-known songs from his early records. The lyric is amazing. Springsteen paints a picture of the boardwalk culture of Jersey Shore, describing a 4th of July celebration and the atmosphere that threatens to smother the love between the singer and his girl, Sandy. This is Springsteen the Poet at his best!
