Before he set out on a solo career Gary Numan fronted the electronic/post-punk outfit Tubeway Army who released two pretty exciting and diverse albums. The futuristic musical landscape and the lyrcial content they explored was very Philip K. Dick to put a literary twist on it, and "Down In The Park" is the first single off second album Replicas (1979). It's a great song, icy cold, with Numan's shivering, eerie voice relating a story of violent Machmen (androids with human skin) who rape and kill humans as entertainment. Not your basic lullaby then.
