Chances are pretty good that a song will sound lovely when you co-write it with Terry Hall, especially when your own name is Ian Broudie. Such is the case with this 1994 Lightning Seeds single. The band is pretty much Broudie's alter ego, and his pop sensibility rarely falters. "Lucky You" is an excellent case in point, a great outburst of jubilant pop music with a "bap-bap-bap-bap-bap-bap" fade-out as a bonus.
