John Foxx - Underpass

John Foxx was the singer for Ultravox on their first three albums, before Midge Ure took over the vocal duties and the band became famous. Ultravox with Foxx behind the microphone was a different matter, more art rock than synth pop. When he left the group it was to explore futuristic, electronic music, and "Underpass" was his first solo single, released in January 1980 just a week prior to the Metamatic album. It's a fascinating song, not exactly hit material but a classic all the same.
