Tove Bøygard is a Norwegian singer/songwriter from Ål in Hallingdal. She's part of the sister duo Bøygard and in 2010 made her solo debut with an eponymous album featuring this wonderful ballad and other excellent songs. "Stille elv" (Smooth river) is the cream of the crop though, a meditation upon life's complexities while sitting by the river, and a musical relative of American folk music from the likes of Lucy Kaplansky, John Gorka, Jonatha Brooke and Richard Shindell.
