David Bowie - Wild Is The Wind

"Wild Is The Wind" was written by Dimitri Tiomkin and Ned Washington and performed by Johnny Mathis for the 1957 movie of the same name. Then, in 1966, Nina Simone cut her version that was to be very famous, and ten years later David Bowie recorded it for his Station To Station album. To me this is the definitive version, where Bowie really sings his heart out. Unfortunately what you'll get here is the single edit, and not the full six minute version that appears on the album. The track was mysteriously not released as a single before 1981, mind you, and it was only a minor hit. Still, this is one of David Bowie's most impressive recordings.
