A famously pompous and overblown ballad and the theme song for the Tom Cruise movie Top Gun, "Take My Breath Away" (1986) was written by Italian disco producer and songwriter Giorgio Moroder and songwriter Tom Whitlock. It was performed by Berlin, true one-hit wonders, and mysteriously this is a great song despite all the bad things I'm able to say about it!
