What can I say? Sinéad O'Connor's take on The Family's "Nothing Compares 2 U" (written by Prince) must be one of the most emotional performances to ever grace the top of the charts. The accompanying music video doesn't hurt either, with its display of raw emotion in O'Connor's face. The camera stays with her all the time when she's singing, and she evidently wants to hide nothing. That the song really resonates with her is beyond any doubt. Released in early January 1990 it remained one of the decade's best hit singles.
