"Money's Too Tight (To Mention)" was a 1982 single by The Valentine Brothers, famously covered in 1985 by Simply Red. It was the British soul band's debut single and a big hit both in Europe and in the US. The song is about the economic problems of the 70's and 80's and specifically about Reaganomics, a set of economic policies implemented by US president Ronald Reagan. It still sounds fantastic.
