Felice and Boudleaux Bryant are among the most important songwriting teams in rock history, having their songs recorded by an incredible number of artists, including Buddy Holly, Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, Charley Pride, Jim Reeves, Simon & Garfunkel, Grateful Dead and first and foremost, The Everly Brothers. Among the hit singles written for them, "Wake Up Little Susie" (1957) is one of the best, a two minute rock ditty, about a teenage couple accidentally falling asleep and waking up in the middle of the night.
