Highly innovative at the time of its 1975 release, the 10CC song "I'm Not In Love" written by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman, consists of - among other things - numerous overdubs of the band members singing a single note in unison, building it up to sound like a huge vocal choir. The effect is mesmerizing, an ethereal sound that's as fascinating today as it was then, and a prime example of how to utilize the possibilities of the recording studio. The contradictory lyric suggests it could be a country and western song, but of course, it's anything but.
