How can you possibly record such a beautiful piece of music as this? The British band Revere supported the famous Malian kora player Toumani Diabaté on tour last year, and a version of the Joy Division classic "Love Will Tear Us Apart" slowly took shape. When time permitted, they entered a recording studio and nailed it, really making the song their own. Unlike many other versions, this one differs quite a lot from the original, and the string-based arrangement is out of this world, it's so beautiful. Actually, it reminds me quite a bit of Tindersticks, it's got that same atmosphere. Ian Curtis would approve, I think.
