Happy anniversary to my beautiful wife, Helle! Today we've been married for 15 years, and they have been great! We married in Las Vegas on March 17th, 1997, at a place called the Graceland Wedding Chapel, where, amongst others, Jon Bon Jovi and high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley, and Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie of The Thompson Twins, had married before us. The chapel's major gimmick is naturally its Elvis impersonators, and our guy walked my bride-to-be up the aisle while singing, and playing (on an acoustic guitar) "Can't Help Falling In Love", Elvis Presley's classic 1961 hit single featured in his film Blue Hawaii. The song was written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore and George David Weiss (of "What A Wonderful World" fame) and has of course been covered by scores of artists. The best cover version, which is not that well-known is by London-based folk band Lick The Tins, which surprisingly featured in the John Hughes film Some Kind Of Wonderful. Still, the original is what my wife and I refer to as "our song". Helle, I love you!
