Was disco ever better? Chic, fronted by genius producers and musicians Nile Rodgers (guitar) and Bernard Edwards (bass), are responsible for some of the best dance music that's ever been recorded. "Good Times" is eight minutes of pure disco heaven from their third album, 1979's Risqué, and some of you will notice that it's the template for The Sugarhill Gang's classic rap single "Rapper's Delight" that sampled heavily from "Good Times". But although "Rapper's Delight" is a lot of fun, it's nothing compared to "Good Times". Never has a song had a more appropriate title, even if it is a jibe at the then current economic situation in USA. The song is explained fully underneath the video clip.
Listen - and dance!
