The first single from Paul Simon's landmark 1986 album Graceland was the wonderful "You Can Call Me Al". Both the album and the song represented a new era for Simon, coming at a time when his career was at a low ebb. He recorded a major part of the album in South Africa which at the time was the focus of a cultural boycott, but using native South African music as a backdrop for his new songs and a host of native South African musicians, Simon's controversial decision was not deemed inappropriate by the United Nations Anti-Apartheid Committee, although the critics were many at the time. The accompanying music video featuring Chevy Chase is hilarious and really worth a look in itself.
