Everything But The Girl - Lullaby Of Clubland

Clubbing was never as lonely as when Everything But The Girl described it in "Lullaby Of Clubland", one of the best tracks off their last album Temperamental from 1999. It's about a supposed pick-up at 2 AM in a club, and the feeling the song gives me is one of complete and utter loneliness and emptiness although it's about two people sort of meeting, helped along by the wonderful house beat and the chilling synthesizers along with Tracey Thorn's ethereal voice.
