Erik's musical Advent calendar: Maria Mena - Home For Christmas

In window number 16 of Erik's musical Advent calendar we actually find the song I declared the very best to be released in all of 2010. That dubious honour went to Norwegian singer/songwriter Maria Mena and her "Home For Christmas", written especially for a film of the same name. It's hauntingly beautiful, a lightly arranged ballad, featuring only a piano, some strings and Mena's vulnerable, brittle voice singing about... you guessed it, going home for Christmas. Stunning song, really!
