R. Kelly - When A Woman Loves

Notorious bad boy R. Kelly released the wonderful album Love Letter late last year. A true departure from his previous records, this is a homage to the great American soul singers of the 50's and 60's such as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Jackie Wilson, Solomon Burke... the list could go on and on. "When A Woman Loves" is the best song on the album, an absolutely perfect recording where Kelly truly sings his heart out. Sadly it's disturbed at about 3:37 when he feels the urge to stretch his vocal chords a bit extra. Totally unnecessary as the rest of the song shows us the best possible vocal performance you can imagine. Nevertheless, this is one of the songs I've played the most for the last six months. I just love it.
