One of The Band's most beautiful songs, "Acadian Driftwood" is culled from their 1975 album Northern Lights - Southern Cross. This is Robbie Robertson at his songwriting best, describing an episode in the history of the French colony Acadia, where we find parts of Northern Canada today, and with a melody to die for. The musicianship is also faultless, and Richard Manuel, Levon Helm and Rick Danko all trade lead vocals.
