Linda Ronstadt - Poor Poor Pitiful Me

Warren Zevon (1947-2003) is among my favorite songwriters and Linda Ronstadt's version of "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" (originally from Zevon's eponymous 1976 debut album) is a prime example of how good his songs are. It's a basic rocker with a typical West Coast flair of the era in which it was recorded, a truly great song with an impressive vocal performance from Ronstadt. It features on her hugely successful 1977 album Simple Dreams where she also included a version of another Zevon classic, "Carmelita".
