Charlie Rich's great ballad "San Francisco Is A Lonely Town" off his 1969 album The Fabulous Charlie Rich is perfect songwriting courtesy of Ben Peters, and a just as perfect performance from Rich. The loneliness inherent in the song surfaces and is lifted to enormous heights with the powerful singing of the country legend, it's quite reminiscent of what Elvis did around the same time, but sadly not remembered by as many. A true classic and a very, very pretty song!
