Let's salute Harold Melvin of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes who would have been 72 years old today, but sadly died in 1997. The band's most famous member was not Melvin himself, but Teddy Pendergrass who also enjoyed success as a solo performer, before being paralyzed in a car accident in 1982. Still, Melvin's name lives on, and "Wake Up Everybody" from 1975 is one of the band's finest songs. Here's the full seven minute version.
