John Hiatt - Real Fine Love

Once upon a time... John Hiatt was a very talented songwriter, not so talented recording artist - or at least an artist who hadn't quite fulfilled his own potential, when in 1987 he released the amazing album Bring The Family with what is possibly the best band in the world - Ry Cooder on guitar, Nick Lowe on bass and Jim Keltner on drums. The four-piece also came together in 1990 as Little Village, unfortunately releasing an underwhelming album. Hiatt did go on making excellent albums on his own though, and followed Bring The Family with the impressive albums Slow Turning (1988) and Stolen Moments (1990). "Real Fine Love" is the opening track from the latter, here in a version recorded at the David Letterman Show.
