Today Radka Toneff would have been 60 years old. The Norwegian jazz singer of the otherworldly voice commited suicide the same year the album Fairytales was released, in 1982. The album was made together with the American pianist Steve Dobrogosz and featured some incredible versions of songs like "Come Down In Time", "My Funny Valentine" and best of all, "The Moon's A Harsh Mistress", the fabulous Jimmy Webb song that's also been done by Joe Cocker, Linda Ronstadt, Glen Campbell and countless others. Radka's version beats them all, hands down!
