Legendary soul singer Bobby Womack was invited by Damon Albarn to contribute vocals to the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach in 2010, which in turn led to a brand new album by Womack who had not released an album since 2000 when he made a Christmas record. Instigated by Albarn and co-producer/XL Recordings boss Richard Russell, Womack has made what is probably one of the best albums of his entire career, called The Bravest Man In The Universe. The 68 year old singer's voice is largely intact, and he bares his soul on a number of great songs wrapped in some excellent and surprising arrangements. "Please Forgive My Heart" was the first single off the album which bursts with fantastic songs.
