Infatuation between pupil and teacher is a recurring theme in pop music. Lately I've posted two examples, The Kids' "Hun er forelsket i lærer'n" (She's in love with the teacher) and The Police' "Don't Stand So Close To Me". Mysteriously the teacher is always a man and the pupil a girl, and guess what? Here's another one! ABBA's 1976 song "When I Kissed The Teacher", the opening track on the masterpiece Arrival, is a brilliant piece of pop music, featuring the immortal line "Leaning over me, he was trying to explain the laws of geometry/And I couldn't help it, I just had to kiss the teacher".
