Elvis Presley's version of the Mexican song "Bésame Mucho" is in every way cheesy - and really cool. It's usually performed as a big ballad - and it's been sung by some of the greatest voices - but Elvis increases the beat instead and gives it an even more pronounced Latin flavour than it's already got. I don't know when he recorded it, but it's most probably sometime in the 1960's. The song was written by the Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez in 1940 and popularized by the Chilean bolero singer Lucho Gatica. The English language version was written by Sunny Skylar.
