Modern soul singer and rapper Aloe Blacc is readying his third album Lift Your Spirit, and "The Man" is the second single to be lifted from it. It's a great soul-pop song using bits of Elton John's classic "Your Song" and combining it with a sweet melody and an arrangement with lots of stuff going on, not least a big gospel choir and a rousing horn section. Great song with an impressive video with Aloe Blacc doing his greatest Marvin Gaye and Malcolm X impressions - and more.
