Real Estate - Primitive

New Jersey band Real Estate has just released the album Atlas, their third, an intoxicating collection of slightly countrified pop songs. Think influences like The Go-Betweens, The Church, R.E.M., The Smiths, Lloyd Cole & The Commotions and similar bands and the sound they utilized in the mid-80's. There's also a bit of Fountains of Wayne in the mix, especially in the track "Primitive" which is my favourite on the new album. Amazing pop song with a nice country twist.
