Irish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow released his debut album Early In The Morning in 2010, followed by an EP with a version of Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" that earned him some well-deserved attention. His follow-up album Post Tropical has just been released, and if first single "Cavalier" is something to judge the album by, I really hope McMorrow is in line for a bit of success. "Cavalier" is a stunning ballad, sounding weirdly like a cross between Bon Iver, James Blake and Justin Timberlake. His voice is an amazing thing of beauty, and the song's sparse arrangement ebbs and flows along with it, creating a truly unique piece of music. The accompanying music video is a strange one though, with a protagonist who really struggles.
