Carpenters - Ticket To Ride

Bigger hits were to come, but Carpenters' 1969 recording of The Beatles "Ticket To Ride" for their debut album Offering (later re-named Ticket To Ride) was kind of a warning flag in that it showed a duo with something extraordinary. Their harmony-laden version differs enough from the original to stand at its own, and still sounds wonderfully fresh today.
