"One" is undoubtedly among U2's most well-loved songs, and for good reason. It's one of the band's very best. It was included on the 1991 album Achtung Baby and was actually the song that became the breakthrough of the recording of the album in Berlin. U2 was apparently on the verge of breaking up, when they found inspiration in a chord progression that guitarist The Edge composed. The final result was magical.
