Icelandic group Sigur Rós are speeding up the frequency of their releases, quite remarkably so. It took four years between their last two albums, but their seventh studio album will be released sometime this year, just one year on from their last record Valtari which was released last May. So far it goes by the name #SR7, but whether this will be the actual album title is not known. The band, that has been reduced to a trio following the departure of keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson, has put out a video teaser for the album on their website with bits of a song that is probably "Brennisteinn" which they debuted last year at a gig in Iceland. It's a heavy, dark piece of music that veers off quite a bit from what they usually do, the most brutal sounding music they have made since the 1997 debut Von.
