Unreleased material from Kate & Anna McGarrigle due in May

When Kate McGarrigle died last year the world lost a great voice and a great performer. Now the quality label Nonesuch Records will release a three disc Kate & Anna McGarrigle set named Tell My Sister on May 2nd (May 3rd in the US). It will feature remastered versions of the pair's two classic albums Kate & Anna McGarrigle (1975) and Dancer With Bruised Knees (1977), as well as a third disc comprising unreleased songs and demos. Joe Boyd who produced the first two albums have compiled the songs for this disc. If by any chance you are so lucky as to be in New York City on May 12th or 13th you may be able to see the shows held in honor of Kate. It is curated by Joe Boyd and will feature performances by Kate's children Rufus and Martha Wainwright, as well as Emmylou Harris, Antony Hegarty, Norah Jones, Teddy Thompson and others.
