The Kane Gang - Closest Thing To Heaven

From the North East of England came The Kane Gang, one of a handful of bands on the exciting Kitchenware label in the early 80's, along with Prefab Sprout, The Daintees and Hurrah! Only the Prefabs are commonly remembered today, but The Kane Gang had a few great tunes, including this wonderful soul ballad, their biggest hit, released in 1984 and later included on their 1985 debut album with the great title The Bad And Lowdown World Of The Kane Gang.
