Ultravox - Brilliant

As many of you may know, the classic line-up of Ultravox has been back together for a few years having played some excellent live shows, and now the four-piece that is Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Warren Cann and Chris Cross have been recording a brand new album. Brilliant will be released on May 28th and is preceded by the title track as the first single. It's a typical Ultravox song that would have fit nicely into Rage In Eden or Quartet, apart from the fact that Midge Ure's voice sounds a bit different than it used to. It seems some of the strength behind it is gone, which is strange considering the fact that he sang his heart out when I saw the band perform in Oslo two years ago. It's still very nice to hear new music from these quarters, and by all means, I do like "Brilliant". Welcome back!
